If visiting for the day isn’t enough, then check out one of our unique opportunities to experience UMD. You’ll explore possible career fields by taking challenging courses tailored to your interests to earn academic credit.Many of these programs will allow you to study with current students, eat in the dining halls, work out in one of our gyms and stay overnight. You’ll walk away knowing what it’s like to be a Terp.

Young Scholars Programs >
The Young Scholars Program invites high school students with exceptional ability and promise to an amazing pre-college experience at the University of Maryland. Rising sophomores, juniors and seniors pursue academic interests, discover career opportunities and earn three university credits.
Women in Engineering >
The Women in Engineering (WIE) Program is dedicated to promoting the role of women in the field of engineering. With a variety of programs for pre-college students, WIE offers exceptional opportunities to experience engineering at the Clark School through annual conferences, week-long camps or Saturday exploration days.
Science in the Evening >
The Science in the Evening Program allows post-baccalaureate career changers to complete science pre-requisite courses for medical and other professional schools. SIE offers a variety of science courses, identical in quality and rigor of daytime undergraduate courses, in the evenings to accommodate full-time workers.
