Shady Grove Application Checklist
You can relax after you submit all of the following items in your application package to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by the appropriate deadline:
1. Completed online application
This application is for students with approximately 60 college credits who are interested in transferring to the University of Maryland at Shady Grove to complete their junior- and senior-level course work and earn a bachelor’s degree. All additional application materials must be postmarked by the appropriate deadline.
2. Nonrefundable application fee of $65
When completing your application, you may pay the fee on our secure website with a credit card or choose to be billed by the university separately. You may also mail a check payable to the University of Maryland. Your name and birth date must be on the check. Sorry, we cannot honor debit cards or cash.
3. Official copy of your college transcripts and list of courses in progress
Your institution should mail transcripts directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the address below or submit them electronically through Naviance or eScripts. Transcripts cannot be emailed, scanned, or faxed to our office. A final official transcript must be sent upon completion of any courses in progress. The University of Maryland accepts transfer credits taken only from regionally accredited institutions. Maryland’s Transfer Credit Services will determine the acceptance of credit after the university extends an offer of admission.
4. Official standardized test scores
Scores should be sent directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the address below by the Educational Testing Service (SAT code for Maryland is 5814) or the ACT Program (ACT code for Maryland is 1746). We use the highest subscores from the SAT and ACT in our review of your application. We will accept scores from the redesigned SAT, first administered in March 2016, with or without essay scores. If you would like to receive credit toward your degree for successfully completing Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), A/AS level examinations, or certain other standard exams, those official scores must also be submitted once the student has been admitted.
5. Review additional application materials (international students only)
International students must submit additional application materials along with their completed online application.
