College Fairs
The University of Maryland participates at college fairs across the country to share with prospective students and their families why there’s no better time to be a Terp. Alumni are invited to assist with these events year-round. Use the Alumni Association’s Volunteer Portal to sign up for an event.
On-Campus Events
Admitted Student Open Houses
Admitted Student Open Houses for admitted students are an opportunity to showcase the academic and social opportunities on campus. Alumni volunteers mingle with guests from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m., welcoming them to the University of Maryland and spreading Terp enthusiasm. Spring 2013 dates have not yet been scheduled.
Maryland EDGE
EDGE (Experience Diversity, Growth and Excellence) is a program for students from underrepresented groups. Admitted students are invited to spend a day with current students, hear about their experiences at Maryland, attend classes to preview academic life, and meet other current and admitted Terps. Alumni volunteers welcome students and their families during lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Stamp Student Union. EDGE Spring 2013 dates have not yet been scheduled.
TerpLink
TerpLink is an opportunity to personally congratulate students on their admission to the University of Maryland and make yourself available for any follow-up questions the students or their families may have. Alumni volunteers write notes to approximately 10-15 students in their area. Stationery and postage will be provided by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. If interested, register by Feb. 10.
