OrientationThe first step in your transition to Maryland is to attend New Student Orientation. There, you will meet with an advisor, select classes, meet new and continuing students and become more familiar with campus.
You can register for orientation after you have confirmed your enrollment (remember it may take up to 48 business hours for your confirmation to be processed and posted to your record). Orientation is required for all new University of Maryland students.
The New Student Orientation Office provides the orientation schedule and registration information. You’ll learn about the required online math placement exam and online surveys, as well as create your University ID and email.
