Transfer Students

Transfer students may be applying from local Maryland community colleges, four-year colleges, or overseas.

Here are some factors to consider when your transfer student is applying:

  1. Be sure to make a note of deadlines for both spring and fall semesters.

  2. Visit our webpage for the Transfer Application Checklist to learn about the materials required to apply as a transfer student.

  3. Learn about the factors the admissions committee looks for in their review here.

  4. To learn more about transfer credit, visit the transfer credit center for over 210,000 course equivalencies. Official transcripts are evaluated only after students are admitted; however, this website will give a good idea of how many courses will transfer and which will fulfill CORE general education requirements, required of all students regardless of major.

  5. If students are transferring from a Maryland Community College, they may also use the Articulation System of Maryland (ARTSYS) website at artweb.usmd.edu to plan their academic path and find course equivalencies.

  6. If your student is attending Montgomery College or Prince George’s Community College, they may be interested in the Maryland Transfer Advantage Program. To learn more, click here.

  7. Those students applying as international students should visit the International Application webpage.
