New Deep Impact Results Add 'Color' to Unfolding Comet Picture
Painting by numbers may not get respect in the art world, but it is a good description of how scientists build pictures of everything from the atoms in our bodies to the planets, asteroids and comets in our solar system. Researchers involved in Deep Impact, a NASA mission led by the University of Maryland, have been doing this kind of painstaking work ever since the mission's spectacular July 4th collision with comet Tempel 1.
